부모로부터 엄청난 유산을 물려받았거나, 로또에 당첨이 되었거나, 혹은 주식으로 떼돈을 벌어서 갑부가 된 사람이 불쌍한 사람들을 위해 돈을 기부한다고 해도 나는 그들을 존경한다... 하물며 말그대로 집도 차도 없는 노숙자 신세가 되도록 자신의 모든 것을 다 바쳐서, 생명을 잃을 수도 있는 위험까지 무릅쓰며, 한민족 한동포도 아닌 생면부지의 사람들(특히나 여자 아이들)을 위해 학교를 지은 사람 이야기에 내가 어찌 감동을 받지 않을 수 있겠는가... 정말이지 이런 아저씨가 노벨평화상 받아야 되는데...
